Chris Paul stole the ball and rocketed the other way, spinning a one-handed floater off the glass as he was fouled, then slapping the padding under the basket with both hands in celebration.
"He's amazing," Hornets forward Peja Stojakovic said. "He does so many things for this ballclub, and he's getting better and better."
Paul had 27 points, 15 assists, 10 rebounds and seven steals for his league-leading fifth triple-double of the season, and the New Orleans Hornets defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 101-86 on Monday night.
Penetrating adeptly into crowds of defenders inside, Paul hit several tough, off-balance baskets while being fouled, once while falling onto his back in the lane and another time while stumbling away from the hoop after taking a knee to the groin by Sixers center Samuel Dalembert.
It was the second time this season Paul came within a few steals of a quadruple-double, but when asked about that, he could only critique the few times he mishandled the ball or unloaded an errant pass.
"A couple more turnovers and I would have had whatever you call five," Paul said.

33-11-10-7 on the Mavs
Just when you thought Chris Paul couldn't do any better, he brings out his biggest and best performance solely to embarrass the Mavs on their home court. 33 points on 50% shooting, 11 assists with only 2 turnovers and 10 rebounds to round out his 4th triple double of the season. He also added 7 steals and currently leads the league with 3 steals per game. Jason Terry hit 5 of 5 shots before Chris Paul guarded him and only hit 4 of 10 after. Mavs used bigger guys and traps to keep Paul out of the paint and had to live with (and die from) his jumpshot.

Paul drops 32 and 15 on as he leads the Hornets over the Lakers
Yahoo! Sports:
West scored nine points during a 15-0 run that gave the Hornets a 109-99 lead with 5:24 remaining. “He was rolling,” Hornets star Chris Paul said of West. “When he’s going like that, we are going to feed him the rest of the game. He was hitting all types of shots—floaters in the lane, step-backs, and that’s why he’s an All-Star.”
So is Paul, and he showed why with 32 points, 15 assists, three steals and no turnovers in 44 minutes. Tyson Chandler added 12 points and eight rebounds, and Rasual Butler had 10 points and six rebounds for the Hornets, who shot only 5-of-14 from 3-point range to the Lakers’ 16-of-34, but won anyway.
“I just didn’t think we executed well enough,” Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. “I thought we burned a lot of energy in the third, trying to catch up and stay ahead after getting behind early in the third quarter.”
